Seasonal Crops

Updated: May 5, 2020

As seasons change, so does the produce we consume. I always looked forward to the first box of mangoes hitting Australian shelves signalling the beginning of summer, whilst starchy vegetables and flavoursome greens were the perfect winter companion in mums winter warmer hot pot.

The beauty of indoor farming is the reduced climatic restrictions. Whilst controlling our environment, we can produce summer vegetables in winter, and vice versa. This means Vertical Patch can increase the supply of out of season produce, in turn decreasing produce price for consumers. Utilising solar energy and deliberate design, our environments temperature can be adjusted to our desired crop.
